    Description
Part of the successful FIFA series of games from EA Sports. This game concentrates on the 1998 World Cup competition. You can choose to take control of any of the international sides involved in the competition or a league side for a season. In all, 172 international teams and over 350 league teams are featured, with a total of over 6,000 players. The game also incorporates a player editor so you can create your own soccer stars. The game offers a good selection of game options; Training, World Cup (including the option to play all the qualifiers), Friendly, League Season and Penalty Shootout. Between matches you can trade players and change the on-pitch strategy and formation. Alongside the single-player game, there is a strong multi-player mode (on PC, for up to 8 players via modem/serial connection, same PC or LAN, or 2/4 with PlayStation/N64). The game boasts many improvements over the 1997 game. There are more control options, making for more realistic action and the game boasts better graphics, character animation and AI. Games are accompanied by a varied commentary provided by John Motson and Andy Gray.
