Myth 2: Soulblighter
Real time strategy game. This game is set 60 years after the end of the original title. The premise is that the land is being overrun by members of the undead that are controlled by the Soulblighter.
The single player campaign game consists of 25 missions of increasing difficulty. A new addition to the game is a full mission briefing which leaves you in no doubt as to your objectives. The game takes place in a richly detailed world and many elements of the environment are interactive. Most missions take place on open terrain but, more unusually, some take place indoors.
You control a fixed number of units in various combat concentrated situations. Mission objectives include investigation, escort duty or even assassination. .Long term tactics must be considered because results of missions carry on from one mission to the next. A significant addition to the game are map and unit editors.
The game boasts excellent 3D graphics and the camera view is fully controllable. Notably the zoom function has been much improved since the last game. The game also incorporates good FMV cutscenes. In-game play is accompanied by a rich variety of sound effects. The use of music is limited.
The multi-player option has been improved and offers a new selection of well thought out maps to play out and some new play options, most notably the capacity for co-operative play.
