Part of this successful series of sim, this is effectively an upgraded version NASCAR Racing 2 before NASCAR Racing 3 is released. It recreates the Winston Cup, Craftsman Truck and Bush Grand National competitions, most of the tracks with some exceptions due to copyright issues). Players can adjust the realism and difficulty levels. As with the previous titles in the series, players have a great deal of race and car customization options. The game boasts generally good graphics, AI and audio. The physics and damage modeling are realistic and the control system is effective. The game offers a selection of game options including quick start, full season and multi-player races (PC, for up to 8 via modem/serial connection LAN or Net).
