Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus
Platform game now available as a budget re-release for PC. This is the a follow-up to the popular game Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and not a sequel proper. The gameplay combines exploration of a rich world, interaction with NPCs, combat and a major puzzle component. Powerups for Abe, such as invisibility, are scattered around in-game. Alongside the single-player game, there is a two-player mode (by taking turns). The game employs detailed 2D backgrounds and 3D characters.
You play Abe, a member of the Mudokon people who are enslaved by the evil Glukkons. The Glukkons are even making an addictive brew from Mudokon tears and bones! Many other types of creature populate the lively gameworld. The aim of the game is to rescue Abe's people. This involves persuasion and offering help, for instance by leading blind Mudokons or healing them. A new addition to this follow-up is that you can control more than one Mudokon at a time. A novel feature of the game is the communication system, which allows you to interact and issue commands.
