Tex Murphy: Overseer
Part of a successful series of adventure games and follow-up to the acclaimed Pandora Directive. Once again you take the role of the private detective, Tex Murphy and the game is set in the near future (after a Third World War). The game boasts a good story, relating to the earlier game in the series, Mean Streets. The plot is largely developed through high-quality FMV cutscenes. The cast of actors includes Michael York.
The gameplay consists of exploration, interaction with NPCs and puzzle-solving. There is also some shooting. A good hint system is incorporated to stop you from getting stuck. The game is played through a series of lavishly-rendered 3D environments populated with 3D characters. The interface and point-and-click control system are effective.
