Acclaimed first-person shoot 'em up, with an emphasis on multi-player action.
The single-player game is effectively a training mode. You fight computer controlled bots in four game types; Deathmatch, Domination, Capture-the-Flag and Assault. In 'Domination' mode, you direct a team of bots aiming to hold key areas for as long as possible. 'Assault' mode involves taking an enemy base and then defending it, within a time limit. There are eight difficulty levels.
When controlling teams you issue orders to your bots via an easy-to-use menu. The game features a wide variety of environments, characters and weapons. Each weapon has two firing modes. Teleportation guns and jumps boots further effect play.
In the multi-player mode, you can choose Tournament Deathmatch, Tournament Team Deathmatch, Domination, Assault, Capture-the-Flag or Last Man Standing.
The game boasts high-quality 3D graphics and the AI is particularly advanced. NPCs can even learn to counteract your style of play.
In-game pop-up dialogue boxes relay communications, including taunts, victory cries as well as tactical information. The dialogue menu is even extended to physical gestures.
There are 23 Deathmatch environments, including a pirate ship, the roofs of skyscrapers and a gothic castle. There are additional levels for the other modes of play.
The weapons include the Impact Hammer, Enforcer pistols, ASMD Shock rifle, Ges Biorifle, Flak canon, Mini-gun, Pulse Gun, Sniper Rifle and Rocket Launcher. You can also construct automated guns. Powerups are scattered throughout the levels.
The teleporting 'gun' which allows you to create teleportation points between areas. There are also jump-boots which allow you to perform death-defying leaps.
