Action Man: Operation Extreme
Action game featuring the popular boy's toy. It is aimed primarily at the younger gamer and numerous tips and helpful mission notes are incorporated. Also no-one gets killed rather defeated enemies are taken captive.
The game's premise is that Action Man must once more defeat the evil Dr. X, together with other baddies such as the femme-fetale Toxica and their minions.
Played from a third-person perspective you guide Action Man through a good range of 3D environments. You must explore the levels sneaking past enemy soldiers as well as engaging them in combat, solving puzzles and completing mini-games. The level design incorporates many platform elements and well-judged jumps etc. are in order. You'll also get to ride in a variety of vehicles. Numerous cool weapons and gadgets are included. Among these are a longbow (which functions like a sniper rifle), a metal detector and a spy camera.
The interface and control systems are effective. The camera system is not without minor problems.
The game's graphics and audio are generally good.
