Messiah
This game combines elements from multiple genres. Mainly a third-person adventure game it includes puzzle, shooting and stealth-based action.
You control the central character, an angel called Bob, who has the ability to occupy other people's bodies. He has been charged by God with the task of helping to clean up the sleazy crime-ridden Earth of the future. The game includes adult themes and some gore making it unsuitable for the younger gamer.
A huge range of different types of characters are included in the game from cops and prostitutes to scientists, priests and even animals. Each have their own skills and characteristics that can be utilised by Bob. In order to posses a body Bob must approach them from the rear, adding an element of stealth to the game.
The game is divided into 14 levels set in real-world locations. However, there is a strong futuristic feel to the design.
Weapons and ammo are among the numerous power-ups scattered around in-game. Some ten different weapons are included in the game. Among these are shotguns, machine gins, flame-throwers and mines. There is a good sniping mode for more stealthy kills.
The game's control system is fairly complex due to the very large number of move options incorporated.
The game boasts excellent 3D graphics. A novel feature of the game is that its developers promise that it uses the full potential of your computer and that on future machines it will look even better. The audio is of a similarly high standard.
