Imperialism 2: Age of Exploration
Turn-based strategy/empire-building sim. This sequel is set earlier than the original game, beginning as it does in 1500. The game offers a choice of campaigns or open-ended game. The multi-player mode enables up to 6 players to compete via LAN or on-line. The world is now split into two parts, the Old and New Worlds, the aim is to control a substantial share of the Old World and exploit the resources of the New World.
The game employs a system of simultaneous turns. The gameplay involves resource management, research and development, managing and extending your empire and combat. Effective trade and diplomacy are important ingredients for success. The game is a played through maps screens and an easy-to-use control interface.
