Outcast
Adventure game that incorporates action and combat elements. The game is set within a complex narrative involving a Special Forces soldier named Cutter Slade. He is sent on a mission to a parallel universe where he is then hailed as a god by some of the inhabitants.
The story begins with the lengthy opening sequence and the whole game is very plot driven. As part of this, Cutter has frequent and long conversations with the NPCs he meets along the way. The conversations are filled with Alien vocabulary for you to get to know.
To help you complete the various tasks incorporated in the game you will accumulate equipment along the way. There is also reference info available concerning the locals and their society.
The game employs a type of engine which allows for vast, if somewhat blocky landscapes to be created, and the graphics are generally impressive. The AI is also good. Play is accompanied a full orchestral score.
