Nerf Arena Blast
First-person shoot 'em up. Notably blood and gore are absent from this game, with harmless darts replacing bullets.
There is a good range of game types on offer, and whilst the emphasis is on multi-player action there is also a good single-player game mode. (The single-player game consists of a series of matches against computer-controlled bots with good AI).
There are three different game types. In Pointblast mode you accumulate points for hitting opponents. The Speedball game involves picking up balls and shooting them at targets for points. The Speedblast is a race-type game where you must touch markers scattered around the levels whilst avoiding enemy shots.
The game's effective scoring system is complex, taking into account many variables for each hit. Importantly when a player is knocked out his points come up for grabs, producing a race between the other players.
There are eight large arenas included in the game. They are well designed with many interesting features and are bright and colorful. Similarly, there is a good cast of characters in vibrant costumes.
A good selection of weapons and powerups are scattered around the levels. the extensive range of weapons are inspired by toy guns, however they are satisfyingly powerful and some incorporate zoom and other useful functions.
The game boasts good 3D graphics and lighting effects. A fitting range of sound effects and music are incorporated into the game.
