Paper Mario

RPG/adventure game featuring the famous plumber and his friends. The game is released in Japan with the title Mario Story. The name 'Paper Mario' refers to the fact that the characters in the game are 2D whilst the environments are rendered in full 3D. Also he behaves as if drawn on actual pieces of paper so for instance, instead of falling heavily he floats to the ground.

The game's premise is that Bowser has stolen the powerful 'star stick' and has used the extra power to scatter Mario and his friends around the Star Kingdom. The gameplay involves exploring the worlds, finding Mario's friends, combat and collecting items. Items include healing mushroom and flower bombs. You can call on any of the characters that you have found to help you in battles. The games boasts a large, well-designed gameworld. The graphics and controls are effective.
