You command a ship for GALCOM (a federation of planets) and can choose to take up missions within a campaign or to explore the gameworld freely. The game boasts a well-designed gameworld with many different groups to interact with. During the game you control many aspects of your ship, and you can also choose to pilot a fighter during battles or land and travel around planets using an all-terrain vehicle. The gameplay includes a major management component, you organize your personnel and are responsible for equipping and maintaining your ship. Strategy, combat and diplomacy also come into play. The game's controls and interface are effective.
