Silent Hill
Action/adventure game with a horror setting. You play Harry Mason whose daughter has gone missing near the town of Silent Hill. The town is filled with supernatural creatures and apparitions.
This is a stylish game that achieves a sense of atmosphere and foreboding. A significant feature is that darkness is effectively used, your field of vision is limited to the area illuminated by your flashlight.
Harry is armed with a gun but ammo is scarce. As a result, shooting action is limited and much of your time will be spent avoiding enemies instead of killing them.
The game employs good 3D graphics, and high-quality cut-scenes to advance the plot. Atmospheric sound effects and ambient music accompany play.
